This year, my 4th of July was extremely low-key. Now big crowds, no large fireworks displays, just a small BBQ with friends. I needed it. I think we all needed it. Summer is here, bringing fresh fruits and veggies, longer daylight hours, and night time BBQs with lots of laughing and love.
O, how shall summer’s honey breath hold out
Against the wreckful siege of battering days,
When rocks impregnable are not so stout,
Nor gates of steel so strong, but Time decays?
(Shakespeare, Sonnet 65 5-8)
