Traveling with Baby

travelphoto
Can you believe the holidays are almost here?! I mean Halloween is in 2 weeks and then, the heavy hitters are here. Thanksgiving. Christmas. New Years. Holiday cooking. Decorating. And…traveling.

Cue the “dun dun dunnnn…”. Guys, traveling with a baby can be tough. BUT, it doesn’t have to be a nightmare! I’ve taken Will on two flights so far, and we’re planning our third for Thanksgiving. I learned from each of our previous trip and at the risk of jinxing it…I think I’ve got it pretty figured out.

Here are my flying with baby essentials:
Hoodie
Extra socks
Extra pair of clothes
Extra top for mom
Clean swaddle blanket
Burp Cloth
Food pouches
Skip Hop with plenty of extra diapers
Whole pack of wipes
Quiet toys
Bib
Extra pacifiers on clips
Nursing cover
Diaper cream

Happy travels!

Whew! Things have been a little crazy over here, Will and I got a bad cold which Jim avoided, but then he got hit with some tough achy bug. So unfortunately I’ve been in in survival mode and not blog mode. However, all is not lost! Today in honor of #tbt I’m posting some photos from my mini-maternity shoot. Done by the very talented Amy Lynne Horn, I love these beautiful reminders of this sweet time.

5 Month Check-in!

Say hello to Mr. 5 Months old! I can’t believe this little baby boy is almost half a year old – time is really flying. Here’s our 5 month check in:

I am: 5 months

I can: sit up, reach for things, get tickled, jump really high in my jumparoo and laugh at my mama’s silly faces

I love: bathtime, exploring the city in my ergo, and finally sitting in my big boy jogger seat

I have: two teeth and counting!

I love documenting all the fun little things this boy does. He is pure sunshine.

5 Minute Makeup

If there’s one thing you’re short on with a new baby, it’s definitely “me” time. Little things like drying your hair or doing makeup begin to feel like luxuries! One of the things motherhood is teaching me is the importance of stealing a moment or two throughout the day for some self-care. Be it cooking and eating a nutritious meal, taking a hot shower, or sneaking in a few yoga poses – when you get a moment alone to collect yourself and feel good, it carries on to your baby.

So, in the spirit of self care, here’s my 5 minute mama makeup routine! After a shower, or just washing my face, I use Aveeno Positively Radiant tinted moisturizer. I follow that with powder foundation and a touch of blush. A bit of eyeliner on the upper waterline, natural colored eye-shadow, mascara, and a swipe of lip gloss and you’re done! 5 easy minutes and I feel ready to face the day.
