Traveling with Baby

travelphoto
Can you believe the holidays are almost here?! I mean Halloween is in 2 weeks and then, the heavy hitters are here. Thanksgiving. Christmas. New Years. Holiday cooking. Decorating. And…traveling.

Cue the “dun dun dunnnn…”. Guys, traveling with a baby can be tough. BUT, it doesn’t have to be a nightmare! I’ve taken Will on two flights so far, and we’re planning our third for Thanksgiving. I learned from each of our previous trip and at the risk of jinxing it…I think I’ve got it pretty figured out.

Here are my flying with baby essentials:
Hoodie
Extra socks
Extra pair of clothes
Extra top for mom
Clean swaddle blanket
Burp Cloth
Food pouches
Skip Hop with plenty of extra diapers
Whole pack of wipes
Quiet toys
Bib
Extra pacifiers on clips
Nursing cover
Diaper cream

Happy travels!

Honeymoon: Toronto

I realized with pregnancy an baby life taking over my brain for almost the past year, I realized I never posted our honeymoon photos! Last August, Jim and I took a trip up to Canada, spending a few days in Toronto before heading out to a cabin on a lake. It was so much fun, and being half Canadian myself, it was great to be able to show Jim where I used to vacation as a kid.

2015/01/img_1764.jpg While on our ski trip, Jim and I went for a hike through Desolation Falls with out friends. Guys, the scenery was insanely gorgeous. These photos can’t begin to do it justice. Imagine being surrounded by snow-capped mountains, finding waterfalls and rivers along the way, and seeing the rocks and boulders poking through ice and snow. It was simply gorgeous, and definitely made me want to get more into hiking. Spending the day walking through and enjoying nature?? Yes please. It’s a workout too! Those hills and inclines won’t climb themselves. Overall it was a super fun experience, and I hope to do much more hiking in the future.

Happy trails,

2015/01/img_1716.jpg We made it to snow! Winter sports have never been my favorite (mostly on account of snow requiring stupid cold temperatures), but this time, we actually had a blast! It definitely helped that we planned ahead and got the right snow gear…little tip, don’t assume you’ll be warm enough. Ever. Maybe that’s just my inner Floridian talking, but seriously. Get the right gear. If you do…you’ll love it! We stuck mostly to the bunny slopes and green runs, and had so much fun.

Stay warm snow bunnies!

Monkey Forrest

So the place we stayed in Ubud was just down the road from the Monkey Forrest. Yep, that’s a real place! And these little stinkers were all kinds of cute…until they turn aggressive and then watch out. /home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/7f1/35191130/files/2014/12/img_1196.jpg Husband made a fast friend by bringing a banana with him. Whether it’s just to fulfill a stereotype or not, these monkey were going bananas for bananas. They had small stands all through the forrest where you could buy a few bananas and be climbed on by a monkey. /home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/7f1/35191130/files/2014/12/img_1206.jpg This girl turned out to be pretty sweet, and sat contentedly on husbands shoulder while finishing her snack. We did see a few get nasty, and one attacked a tourist by jumping on her backpack and climbing to her head where he proceeded to hiss and growl at anyone who tried to dislodge him. It was terrifying, and a bit hilarious to watch the little guy hold his ground. In the end he gave up and the girl got away unharmed. /home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/7f1/35191130/files/2014/12/img_1215.jpg
If you make it to Ubud, definitely come say hello to these little buds.
